Village Her was born from a simple belief: families were never meant to navigate the path to parenthood alone.
For generations, new parents were surrounded by a village; mothers, grandmothers, aunties, neighbors, and trusted community members who showed up with helping hands, warm meals, shared wisdom, and loving support. Today, many families find themselves raising children far from that kind of community, carrying the weight of parenthood without the village they deserve.
My journey into perinatal care began with my own experience as a new mother. Like so many parents, I found myself navigating the overwhelming, beautiful, and often isolating realities of pregnancy, postpartum, and the NICU. At a time when I longed for the guidance and support of my village, my mother was living with dementia. I was grieving the loss of the wisdom, comfort, and practical support she had so lovingly provided during my first experience with motherhood, while also mourning the reality that I could no longer share this season of my life with her in the same way. As I learned how to care for my baby, I was also learning how to navigate motherhood without the village I had always imagined would be there.
That experience changed me.
It opened my eyes to just how many families are carrying more than anyone can see. New parents are often expected to do one of the hardest things they'll ever do while feeling overwhelmed, isolated, exhausted, or unsupported. I knew I wanted to be part of changing that.
What began as a personal search for support became a calling to provide it for others. For the past 17 years, I have had the privilege of supporting newborns, parents, and growing families through some of life's most transformative seasons. Through professional training in newborn care, postpartum support, birth doula services, lactation support, and placenta encapsulation, I have dedicated my career to helping families feel informed, empowered, and cared for as they navigate the journey into parenthood.
Today, I have the privilege of walking alongside families during some of their most vulnerable and sacred moments. I bring not only professional expertise, but heartfelt presence, because every parent deserves to feel seen, every mother deserves to feel held, and every family deserves a village.
