Kind Words

What Families Are Saying

"Having Village Her Perinatal by my side was the single best decision I made for my postpartum recovery. I finally felt like I had a village."

Amara T.

First-time mom

"The overnight care was a game-changer. I woke up rested for the first time in weeks. I cannot recommend this service enough."

Destiny R.

Mom of two

"She came in with so much warmth and knowledge. I felt supported, seen, and cared for. Not just my baby, but me too."

Jasmine M.

New mom

"Afrika is an experienced and compassionate baby whisperer. Her guidance is both practical and holistic, and she brings warmth, reliability, and zero judgment to every family she serves. Run, don't walk, to work with her."

Erin A.

"When we brought our preemie home from the hospital, we knew we needed help. Afrika supported our family through those first five weeks with incredible knowledge, patience, and a calming presence. She helped us navigate difficult nights, taught us valuable newborn care skills, and gave us the confidence we needed as new parents. We couldn't have done it without her."

Ali & Alex

Parents of a Preemie

"Ten out of ten from the Gann-Hernandez family!"

Emily & Joe G.

"Afrika was a huge part of both of my pregnancies and births. She supported me from conception through labor, always answering questions, providing guidance, and helping me feel confident in my decisions. During my second birth, she talked me through labor, helped me get to the hospital, and reminded me that I was stronger than I believed. Her compassion, professionalism, and unwavering support made all the difference."

Vanessa B.

Mother of Two

"Hiring Afrika was one of the best decisions I made. She made herself accessible by any means and helped me care for myself mentally, physically, and emotionally as a first-time mother. She treats all of her clients as family and remains active and involved in our lives."

Kelli W.

First-time mother

"Afrika attended my homebirth recently. From the moment I met Afrika at the interview I knew she was the doula for me. She has a very calm, sweet and endearing nature. Afrika arrived as soon as I called to say I was in labor. She naturally and intuitively knows her role as a birth doula. She worked with me through every single labor pain and assisted with pain reduction techniques. She worked very well with the rest of my birth team including my midwife and 2 assistants. After 17 hours in labor Afrika transferred with me to the hospital and there helped me through labor and my eventual c-section 26 hours into labor. After the c-section she stayed and helped me with breastfeeding for another hour and didn't leave til the baby latched and successfully fed. Afrika was fantastic and an absolute asset through the labor process. I was so incredibly lucky to have her. She continued to make postpartum visits and even still checks up on me."
